Holiday Hiatus--Introducing Heather, New Design Team Member

Because the holiday time is so busy, we're taking a short break from our Challenges.  We'll be back January 6th with a new Challenge and giveaways but today we want to introduce a new Design Team member.

Heather has entered most of our Challenges this year and we were blown away by her projects.  We were very excited when she agreed to join the Design Team.  So, without further ado, we want you to meet her....
"My name is Heather A. Hudson, I live in Pinckney, Michigan with my two teenage sons, hubby and two kitties.  I am a Registered Nurse, working with one special Ventilator dependent teen (4 years now).  I currently work full time, and design for Gecko Galz, Really Reasonable Ribbon and Art Glitter.  In the past I have designed for Bella Creations & Scraptales (both closed now), Globecraft & Piccola, Sugar Creek Hollow and Pro 31 Designs.   I have been playing with paper since 2010. I love to create digital collage sheets, and convert them into Print and Cut files.  I also enjoy doing tutorials on Youtube.  I will be hosting my own Challenge blog starting in January.  I am so excited to be joining the amazing Creative Cutting Design Team!  I look forward to sharing my work with you, and seeing what you have come up with for our challenges."
And now some more eye candy from Heather!

Holiday Hiatus Christmas Inspiration--Week 2

Because the holiday time is so busy, we're taking a short break from our Challenges.
However that doesn't mean that we want you to miss your creative cutting inspiration!
We'll be featuring SVG projects from our Design Team until the Challenges resume.

Today we have last minute gift bag inspiration for you and since you'll have all that extra time, a video to watch!
First up is quick and easy gift bags from DT Member Cindy.  She says:  "I used the leftover vinyl from charger plates I made to create these bags.  You could cut any design out of vinyl, attach to a plain gift bag and have beautiful custom packaging in just a few minutes!"

Cute Scooby Doo  gift card holders from Carmen.

And finally a project from new Design Team member, Heather.  We are very excited that Heather will be joining us in January.  You'll "officially" meet her very soon, but we wanted you to see her fabulous "Victorian Pink Mitten Ornament".
And for a real treat, Heather has prepared a video featuring many of her gorgeous ornaments and tags.  Grab some cocoa or coffee and enjoy it HERE.

The Creative Cutting Design Team wishes you and yours a very Merry Christmas and a happy holiday season!

Challenge #24: Christmas Cards

CHRISTMAS CARDS

If we receive at least 10 entries, the prize for this challenge will be a $5 Gift Certificate for SVG files from the Creative Pointe's ON LINE STORE.
You'll find over 140 SVG files/sets available for all your paper crafting projects.
If we have less than 10 entries, the winner will receive this SVG set  CHRISTMAS HEADINGS.  Winner will be randomly chosen from all submissions.

One extra special entry will receive the "Creative Choice" button.

Ready for some inspiration? Let's take a look at what the Design Team created using SVG diecuts.

Carolyn created two similarly spectacular cards using the Christmas Headings file.  She says:  "The top card features a sunburst technique - cut strips and layered on back piece. Once I finished the layering, placed on a black mat; then the mat on card was embossed using my Cuddlebug embossing folder - Dots.  The second card features I printed the song Joy to the World and layered on navy piece of cardstock for matting."  Get the details on Carolyn's blog:    Granny Ma's Creative Blog

Ruth made this super shaped card.  She says: "I'm sure that now that December is here it feels good to be getting lots done for Christmas. I certainly enjoyed creating a card from the Snowglobe file from The Creative Pointe! If you've never made a shaped card from a cutting file, you might want to check out how I chose to make my card over on my blog! I'm sure you have plenty of cards to make for Christmas, so use an SVG and join in the challenge! We'd love to see what you're creating!"  Ruth's blog:  Paper and Musings

Cindy put together an old fashioned looking card using the Holly file.  She says:  "I used the holly as the accent piece to my faux chalkboard sentiment.  I used lots of little tricks to pull this card (inspired from Pinterest) together.  Click over to my blog for the design details."  Cindy's blog:  The Creative Pointe

Shelissa created this fun frosty card.  She says:  "It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, the temperature has dropped and the white snow has come down.  I used my  Pazzles Inspiration die cutting machine to cut out the Snowman Face file from The Creative Pointe and Snowflakes Overlay from the Pazzles craft room."  Check out the details on Shelissa's blog:  Shelissa"s Craft Studio

Octavia created this card which features beautiful banners.  She says:  "I used the Christmas Set. Cutting banners from various papers for my background, adding a few lights, and a bauble cut and embossed on the cuttlebug (used a soda can). Festive was the look I was going for."  Octavia's blog:  T's Corner For Scrappin'

Vicki created a gift card.  She says:  "I decided to start with family Christmas cards for this challenge and created this cool gift card holder for one of my nephews. It's a fantastic idea I gleaned from Cindy at The Creative Pointe. It's the perfect size for holding a gift card, but I typically give cash, and this works for that too!  I wanted this to be fairly masculine and mature enough looking for a 17-year-old. I chose The Creative Pointe's 'Christmas Bells' SVG file to cut a large jingle bell to adorn the front. Visit my blog for all the details...including my adaptation of the template for a pointy-flapped envelope."  Vicki's blog:  Paper Squirrel

Tina created a yummy shaped card using a file from the Gingerbread Set.  She says:  "I wanted to make a fun shaped card with this set and I used red glitter cardstock and sequins from my stash to add a little green to the card, this is a great cut and can be used for so many different ways. I also did the gingerbread Man too, now you’ll need to come over to my blog to see what I did with him. Happy Holidays to you all."  Tina's blog:  Tina's Scrap Corner

Carmen used the Poinsettia file to create this dimensional card.  She says:  "I went really simple with this card.  I think that the poinsettias speak for themselves.  Cindy’s Poinsettia file is beautiful and easy to work with.  I added a bit of Liquid Applique to the center and of course some shimmer mist to make them glitter just for Christmas."  Carmen's blog:  Carmen's Creations

randomly drawn winner of the $5 SVG Gift Certificate
is
#4 Julie P

Congratulations!
Please email Cindy at creative@avci.net to claim your Gift Certificate.

Another agonizing week of selecting one "Creative Choice" out of all the amazing entries.  I decide the winner of this award by looking at the design elements and most importantly, the quantity/quality of electronic cutting used to make the project.  It's never an easy choice either!  But for this Challenge, I felt I had to award the "Creative Choice" to
Her "Little Christmas Box" is so elegant all in white.  I love all the details from the pearls on the scalloped roof to the rounded doorway.  I think that whatever she puts in it will pale in comparison to the box holding it!  Congratulations Lisa!  Be sure and grab your blog button above.

Challenge #23: Christmas--Not A Card

CHRISTMAS--NOT A CARD

If we receive at least 10 entries, the prize for this challenge will be a $5 Gift Certificate for SVG files from the Creative Pointe's ON LINE STORE.
You'll find over 150 SVG files/sets available for all your paper crafting projects.
If we have less than 10 entries, the winner will receive this SVG set  CHRISTMAS TREES.  Winner will be randomly chosen from all submissions.

One extra special entry will receive the"Creative Choice" button.

Ready for some inspiration? Let's take a look at what the Design Team created using SVG diecuts.

Cindy created this charger plate using one of her new charger files.  She says:  "Chargers seem to be THE thing this holiday season so I used the Reindeer Charger file to easily put this one together using vinyl.  Click over to my blog for the assembly details and a look at the other charger files available."  Cindy's blog:  The Creative Pointe

Carolyn created a hanging box using the Poinsettia file.  She says:  "The box and poinsettia were cut out using the Silhouette Cameo and the sentiment is print and cut.  The paper is Christmas wrapping paper that I 'ironed' to freezer paper and cut out.  Come on over to my blog for more details on how I created this."  Carolyn's blog:  Granny Ma's Creative Blog

Ruth created a cute scrapbook layout using the Gingerbread Set.  She says:  "Give me a challenge to create something for Christmas that's not a card and give me fun SVG cutting files (like the Gingerbread Set from The Creative Pointe) and you've got me creating a scrapbook layout with my little cuties from back when they were little(r) and cuter! I hope you enjoy and I hope you'll join in with this fun challenge!"  Ruth's blog:

Shelissa created this sparkly, personalized ornament by altering the stocking from the Christmas Set Two.   She says:  "It’s that time of year when we shop for or create projects with the ones we love.  This ornament is one that you can get creative with and it’s for all ages. I used my Pazzles Inspiration die cutting machine to cut out the stocking and then decorated with copper embossing powder, a copper brad and gold twine."  Get all the details on Shelissa's blog:  Shelissa's Craft Studio

Carmen is getting herself organized with this awesome notebook.  She says:  "This challenge I made a list notebook for Christmas organization. Christmas is just around the corner and if you are like me I haven’t even begun to think about it.  I used Cindy’s Elf Trio file . It worked really well for this project.  It shows how busy I will be in the coming weeks.  Please see my blog for more information on how I put this organizer together."  Carmen's blog:  Carmen's Creations

Vicki created an ornament to hold memories.  She says:  "I was inspired by a Pinterest project for my design team project.  My grandmother's vintage sequins are at the heart of this shabby chic ornament.  Visit my blog to see how I used The Creative Pointe's "Joy Ornament" SVG file to create this precious Christmas keepsake."  Vicki's blog:  Paper Squirrel

Octavia created two lovely projects.  She says:  "I took the Christmas Set Two and made ornaments!  For the round ornament, I cut it four times, folded each one in half, and stuck them back to back for dimension. Finishing it off with some Stickles on each side. For the stocking, I cut the bottom layer once and the top layers twice (remember to flip one) so that it would be double sided. Finishing it off with some liquid applique` for the top of the stocking and tinted gel puffy paint for accent."  Octavia's blog:  T's Corner For Scrappin'

Tina created this super two page layout.  She says:  "I used the Christmas Set Two for this 2-page scrapbook layout. The set had a cute ornament and stocking that I used for the border along both pages. I used them to mimic decorating the tree with hanging along the glittery silver trim. I pulled out my trusty box of stashed Christmas papers to create the die-cuts. I found just the right green, red and a diagonal striped paper for the die-cuts. For more details and more pictures of the layout you’ll find them at my blog."  Tina's blog:  Tina's Scrap Corner

Challenge #22: Thanksgiving

THANKSGIVING

If we receive at least 10 entries, the prize for this challenge will be a $5 Gift Certificate for SVG files from the Creative Pointe's ON LINE STORE.
You'll find over 150 SVG files/sets available for all your paper crafting projects.
If we have less than 10 entries, the winner will receive this SVG set: THANKSGIVING--SET 2.  Winner will be randomly chosen from all submissions.

One extra special entry will receive the"Creative Choice" button.

Ready for some inspiration? Let's take a look at what the Design Team created using SVG diecuts.
Vicki created this lovely Thanksgiving card.  She says:  "I love silhouettes...so elegant and timeless!  This silhouette pilgrim couple is on their way to gather with friends and family for the first Thanksgiving. The lovely pilgrim pair is from The Creative Pointe's 'Thanksgiving Set 1'.  I also cut some pretty paper leaves using The Creative Pointe's 'Fall Leaves'.  Get the details and more photos at my blog."  Vicki's blog:  Paper Squirrel

Carolyn created an awesome Autumn Mini-Album using the Fall Set .  She says:  "The Autumn banner is the cover for the album.  I added leaves and a basket full of leaves from the file.  Page two features a border of leaves, along with two leaves on the corner edge of the paper.  I created page three by welding pumpkins from the same file, then added the overlay on top.  Love those pumpkins.  Page four has another border of leaves welded to the bottom edge and the leaves copied and placed on top.  Another basket on the edge--which is empty because it's waiting to be filled with leaves.  Page five has Cindy's Indian Corn  file welded along the right edge of the page.  The final picture is of the mini-album put together with a big eyelet (found in the sewing section at Wal-mart) and a book ring. If families go on hayrides or to a pumpkin farm, this would make a great mini-album to display pictures of your fun day.  I have a total of 10 pages, including the front and back cover, but more pages can be added as needed."  Carolyn's blog:  Granny Ma's Creative Blog

Cindy created a Thanksgiving card full of texture.  She says:  "This card features three maple leaves from the Fall Leaves set and a layer of designer paper cut from Arty Accents file.  Visit my blog and I'll give you the details on how I created all the different textures feature on this card."  Cindy's blog:  The Creative Pointe

Carmen also created a lovely Thanksgiving card.  She says:  "I used the Fall Set for this card.  I am a Canadian so our Thanksgiving was almost a month ago.  This card will get popped in the mail to one of my US friends for Thanksgiving this year."  Carmen's blog:  Carmen's Creations

Ruth created a very unique scrapbook page.  She says:  "I loved the Thanksgiving Set 1 from the Creative Pointe and was inspired to scrap my Thanksgiving favorites without photographs. Kind of a crazy idea, I know. Check out my post and let me know what you think!"  Ruth's blog:  Paper and Musings

Tina created a glittery Thanksgiving card.  She says:  "The Thanksgiving card was made with Creative Pointe’s Thanksgiving set 3, I used the Horn of Plenty and the Thanksgiving heading for the card with my cameo. The files cut nicely and add a nice touch to the card. To get all the details you’ll need to stop by my blog at Tina’s Scrap Corner. I wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving as well, eat and be merry, but most be thankful."  Tina's blog:  Tina's Scrap Corner

Octavia was a trouper and came through with this super layout while being under the weather.  She says:  "I used the Thanksgiving Set 2 for my scrapbook layout.  The heading made a great title and using the turkey, acorns and leaves gave me the perfect elements for decoration and dimension.  I used neon papers for the feathers on the turkey and a patterned paper for the body.  Also, I used garnet colored embossing powder for the top of the acorns.  The leaves were cut, vines drawn on and then sprayed with alcohol ink for that fall color theme."  Octavia's blog:  T's Corner For Scrappin'
